Two big movies opened this holiday weekend. Disney (DIS) is trying its hardest to woo the youthful males, as well as their date, with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. In a desire for counter-programming advantage, Time Warner (TWX) is going for the female audience, both young and old, with Sex and the City 2, the sequel to the very popular film based on the equally popular HBO series.The stakes are high for both projects. Disney really, really needs to hit this one out of the park. In case you hadn't noticed, the Mouse's stock has been navigating some rough waters. Sure, there are economic problems that are outside the company's control affecting the shares, but the movie slate is not something an investor can blame on external events. Instead, shareholders are counting on a rebound not only from recent weakness, but from long-term resistance as well. They want to see a share price of $40 or more driven by the purchase of Marvel Entertainment and a redesign of the studio strategy -- the latter based on a fresh vision by chairman Rich Ross.
